What to expect:

Join naturopath Sonya Byron for this interactive and fun workshop, in which you will:

  • meet powerful healing plants and learn how to easily identify them in the wild or to grow them yourself in your home garden;

  • learn about the medicinal properties of these plants and how, when and where to apply them;

  • learn how to make your own natural home medicine chest! Sonya will share her favourite natural remedies for common winter health complaints, including congestion, cold and flu symptoms, coughs, sore throats, musculoskeletal aches and pain, dry skin and eczema, headaches, fatigue, stress and low mood, and much more!;

  • learn important hygiene and safety considerations, including which remedies are appropriate for children and the elderly, and when to call a doctor.

  • There will be plenty of time to ask Sonya your own questions, and you will leave the workshop feeling newly confident to care for your health and the health of your loved ones this Winter using the power of mother nature!

What’s included:

All materials, equipment and ingredients are included in the workshop price. Participants will receive a copy of Sonya’s 40-page herbal home remedy book to take home with them, which contains all of the key information and recipes included in the workshop, so they can continue to practice their new skills at home. Participants will also have the opportunity to take home samples of some of the remedies made during the workshop, including elderberry syrup, fire cider, ginger lozenges and more, so please bring a few small glass jars with you for taking home different product samples on the day. Complimentary tea and coffee will also be provided.

About your tutor:

Sonya Byron is a Naturopath and Yoga teacher in clinical practice at Lower Mountains Health & Healing in Blaxland, in the lower Blue Mountains. A former organic vegetable farmer, she’s passionate about empowering people to care for their own health (and to save money, time and the planet in the process) by learning how to grow and preserve their own food, and how to make their own simple herbal and nutritional remedies for common health complaints.
